Welcome to the Greater Ridgetown Area

On behalf of the Ridgetown & South East-Kent Chamber of Commerce, I would like to welcome new visitors and friends alike to our area.

Ridgetown like many other small towns always seems to be changing; while at the same time holding on to many of its unique features that it's known for. There are some wonderful opportunities for new business to move to our area. Our Main core is being redesigned this summer. This means new sidewalks, benches and trees along with other landscaping, and a nice new street surface. All our business will remain open and by accessible during the improvements. While the new sidewalks are being poured some merchants will be providing alternate entries to their business; which will be clearly marked. We're all looking forward to the new look of our downtown.

Ridgetown is known for its Victorian architecture. Everywhere you look, you will see very decorative original Victorian homes and other buildings. The Chamber of Commerce is excited to by working with the Ridgetown Rejuvenation Association on their 'Festival of Porches and Verandahs' this summer. The festival will be held July 25th. This festival will highlight Ridgetown’s Victorian porches and verandahs, where luncheons will be held in full Victorian style. There will be special sales on at our local business during this festival. There are many other events scheduled for our community this summer. Some on which include: The Horticultural Society's Garden tour June 14th, The Rotary Antique Car Show July 12th, East Kent Vintage Tractor show Aug. 1st and 2nd. and Farmers Markets on Saturday mornings 8-12 throughout July and August. Ridgetown's close proximity to the sandy beaches of Rondeau Provincial Park is another great reason to visit our area. Rondeau Park is well known for bird watching along with windsurfing, kite boarding, waterskiing and fishing.

There's so much to explore in Ridgetown and South East Kent and we look forward to having you visit us soon.
